Find and request population registration certificates
You can use our e-service to find the correct population registration certificate. You can print certain population registration certificates yourself, but you have to request for others to be sent to you by post.
Here you can find your population registration certificate based on who you are required to provide it to.
You can also find your population registration certificate in our list sorted by the name of each population registration certificate.
Requests on behalf of another person – for example, your child
If you need to request a population registration certificate for your child, select the “Request postal delivery” option, which you'll see when you're using the e-service. The certificate will then be sent to the address at which the child is listed in the Swedish Population Register.
In some cases, you need to contact us
If you or a close relative has protected identity
If you have protected identity
If you have protected identity, you can print out a population registration certificate if it contains your personal data only. If it also contains personal data about someone closely related to you, you need to call the Swedish Tax Agency and speak to a case administrator for matters relating to protected identity.
You are welcome to call us between 9.00 and 15.00 on business days (Monday to Friday, except public holidays).
If someone close to you has protected identity
Even if you don't have protected personal data yourself, you need to call the Swedish Tax Agency and speak to a case administrator for matters relating to protected identity.
This applies if someone close to you (legal guardian, parent, child, spouse or registered civil partner) has protected identity, and their personal data will be included on your population registration certificate.
You are welcome to call us between 9.00 and 15.00 on business days (Monday to Friday, except public holidays).
If you have a coordination number
You cannot request a population registration certificate if you have a coordination number. You can get a written statement instead, confirming that you have been assigned a coordination number. You need to contact us to request this type of written statement.
If you are 100 years old or older
You cannot request a population registration certificate yourself by post if you are 100 years old or older. Please contact the Swedish Tax Agency by phone, or using our online contact form, to request a population registration certificate.
If you cannot find the correct population registration certificate
If you are unsure which population registration certificate you need, you should first contact the party that requires it. If they don't know what the certificate is called, ask which details it needs to include.
If you cannot find the correct population registration certificate, you are welcome to contact us for assistance with your request.
