If the Swedish Tax Agency has listed you in the Swedish Population Register under a municipality only, this is because we have identified the municipality in which you live, but not your address. We can also register you on a temporary basis under a municipality only, if your existing address details are likely to be incorrect.
If the Swedish Tax Agency has informed you about why you’ve been listed in the Swedish Population Register under a municipality, you only need to notify us when your situation changes. That’s when you need to report a change of address.
If you have moved to a new address, please contact us as soon as possible to notify us of where you live.
The simplest way to do this is by using our Swedish e-service “Report a change of address” (“Flyttanmälan”). If you have Swedish eID, you should use this e-service. If not, please fill in and submit form SKV 7845 instead.

Please contact us if you think that your apartment number has been specified incorrectly.
If you have left Sweden, you need to notify us of your move abroad if you have been – or are going to be – abroad for one year or more.
If you have left Sweden but will be away for less than one year, you may need to contact the Swedish Tax Agency to make sure you are correctly registered in the Swedish Population Register.
The Swedish Tax Agency can register you on a temporary basis under a municipality only, if your registered address is likely to be incorrect, and this causes problems for someone else who owns, rents or is registered at the property or apartment in question.
Temporary registration applies until we determine the address at which you should be listed.
If you think your last registered address was correct, you must contact us as soon as possible to provide your own information for the investigation. Otherwise, you should notify us of the address to which you have moved.
When you are listed in the Swedish Population Register under a municipality only, you generally have the same rights and obligations as someone who is registered at a specific address. However, there are certain exceptions.
