It’s possible for an unauthorised party to registered at your home address, and to use your address details for fraudulent purposes. Did you know that you can take steps to prevent this?
We’ve gathered our answers to some of the most common questions people ask us about safeguarding their registered address.
You can check the names of everyone who is registered at the same address as you by using our Swedish e-service “Show all individuals registered at the same address” (“Visa folkbokförd på samma address”). If you discover that someone is incorrectly registered at your address, you can ask them to submit a change of address notification to us. If you cannot do that, please notify us by using the “Inform us of an error” (“Meddela fel”) feature in the e-service.
We prioritise population registration errors that create problems for you, or that are damaging to society. It’s important to provide us with as much information as possible so we can address the matter you’ve raised as effectively as possible.
No, this is not possible. If someone has reported a move to your address, you may receive a letter in the post, or a message to your digital mailbox. If you receive such a letter or message, you need to respond to it so that we know whether or not the individual in question actually lives at your address. It’s important to safeguard your address details to ensure they are not used fraudulently.

Yes, you can ensure that no one can report a move on your behalf by using our “Block unauthorised change of address” (”Spärra obehörig adressändring”) e-service. If you activate a block, it will only be possible to report a change of address or notify us of a special postal address for you using the Swedish Tax Agency’s e-services. We will carry out verification checks on any notifications we receive on paper before registering the new details.
