Please notify the Swedish Tax Agency of a special postal address if you would like your post to be sent to an address other than your registered address for at least six months. The address may be in Sweden or abroad. It does not cost anything to register a special postal address.
You can notify the Swedish Tax Agency of a special postal address if you would like your post to be sent to an address other than your registered address for at least six months. The address may be in Sweden or abroad. It does not cost anything to register a special postal address.
A special postal address is complementary to your listed address in the Swedish Population Register. The Swedish Tax Agency cannot therefore register your listed address as a special postal address.
Your listed address will not be changed if you register a special postal address.
If you notify us that you are moving to a new address, your special postal address will not be deregistered.
You can register a special postal address if, for example, you:
You can register a c/o (“care of”) special postal address if you want someone else to receive your post.
You should write “c/o” before the name and address of the person who will receive your post.
If you are a lodger or subletting a property, do not write c/o when you notify us of your change of address. Your name should be on the door and on the postbox.
As a trustee or administrator, you can notify us that your client's post should be sent to your address. You can do this by filling in form SKV 7844 and posting it to the Swedish Tax Agency. Please also enclose a copy of your authorisation as a trustee or administrator.
Please note that the special postal address for your client will not be changed automatically if you move to a new address.
However, you can order mail redirection. This means that post sent to your previous address will be forwarded to your new address. You can request mail redirection from the Swedish change of address service (“Svensk Adressändring”) for a fee. Keep in mind that mail redirection will not change your registered address.
The special postal address will not be cancelled if your client dies.
You can register a special postal address in Sweden or abroad via this e-service. You should submit your notification in advance, but not more than one month before you want the special postal address to come into effect. You can also use this e-service to deregister a special postal address. The e-service is only available in Swedish.
Don’t submit another notification about the same matter. If you have a question about your registration, or if you would like to make any changes, please call the tax information service on 0771 567 567, or +46 8 564 851 60 from outside Sweden.
Your special postal address will be distributed automatically to most public authorities and other organisations that collect data from the Swedish Population Register.
However, you may need to notify private individuals, membership organisations, publication subscription services and companies from which you wish to receive post.
Mail forwarding means that post addressed to your previous address is sent on to your new address. However, mail forwarding does not change your registered address. You can request mail forwarding from the Swedish change of address service (“Svensk Adressändring”) for a fee. Your post will be forwarded for a specified period, usually one year.
You can use this e-service to register a special postal address in Sweden or abroad. If you are going to live abroad for more than one year, you should not register a special postal address. You should notify us that you have moved abroad instead. You can find more information about this under “Moving abroad”.
To deregister a special postal address, you submit a notification via the special postal address e-service.
If you are unable to use the e-service, you can notify us by filling in form SKV 7844. Post the form to the address stated on it.
Please note that your special postal address will not be deregistered automatically if you register a change of address.
