This is a guide on how to transfer the balance sheet and income statement (your schedule of accounts) in the NE appendix.
It is important that always state amounts rounded off to the nearest whole number.
If you have prepared simplified year-end accounts, transfer the amounts to the schedule of accounts, in boxes B1–B10, B13–B16 and R1–R11.
Those who have prepared regular year-end accounts can use a connection diagram from (the accounting manual) BAS as a guide when filling in the schedule of accounts.
If you are conducting business jointly with someone else, the individual who is the financial controller is to fill the balance sheet and income statement.
If you are not the financial controller, begin your reporting in form box R18 or R19 under Tax Adjustments, i.e. you are not to fill in the balance sheet and income statement.
In this section, we wish only to ascertain whether you were assisted when preparing of the annual accounts. Note that the information here pertains only to the annual accounts and not the tax return.
Check the box “Yes” if your year-end accounts were prepared with the help of a contractor specialised in accounting, such as an authorised accounting consultant or auditor).
A contractor is someone who is not employed in your company and who rendered the services for a payment.
Check the box “No” if you prepared the annual accounts by yourself. You have to check the box “no” even if you only received advice or help with the odd question.
