Tax exemption for armed forces
US and other NATO forces can be granted exemption from VAT and excise duties while they are in Sweden.
US forces
US forces in Sweden can be granted tax exemption under the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between the two countries.
Other NATO forces
Armed forces in Sweden that belong to another NATO member state, or that are under the authority of a NATO headquarters, may be granted tax exemption by applying for a tax refund.
