Reporting a change of address for a child

When you want to report a change of address for a child, all legal guardians must sign the change of address.

Accordingly, if the child has two legal guardians, they must both sign the change of address. If only one legal guardian signs the change of address, a request for consent is sent by mail to the other legal guardian.

To speed up processing, report a change of address using the e-service and activate consent in the e-service at the same time. Do not forget to inform the other legal guardian that they are to approve the change of address within five days.

Report your change of address using the e-service

If you report the change of address using the e-service, the other legal guardian is given the opportunity to consent to the change of address directly in the service.

Do you not have electronic identification?

Children who have turned 16 but not 18

Children who have turned 16 are themselves entitled to report a change of address. This means that if the child is between the ages of 16 and 18, either the child themselves or their legal guardian(s) can sign the change of address.
